Soviet Block (советский блок) is a brutalist block, although hard and angular, is made from a chunk of European bourgeois oak, which unlike concrete it has a gentler and organic feel.

The Soviet Bloc (or Eastern Bloc) was a coalition of communist states led by the Soviet Union during the Cold War. It included the USSR and its Central and Eastern European satellites tied together politically, economically, and militarily. The bloc effectively dissolved during the Revolutions of 1989 and the formal collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. Many former satellite states have since integrated with Western institutions, officially joining the European Union and NATO.
